Challenge 904: Little & Large
I passed this shop in Twickenham a couple of months ago, initially attracted by the exuberance of the ampersand.

The sign over the door describes it as a Photo Studio and Dog Boutique.

Surely they could do more with their window display?

High res is here.

The shop name reminded me of this - "Dignity and Impudence" by Landseer

This one was quite tricky. My initial thoughts involved dogs but Frank and Loyd beat me to it. Great work. The look alike studio is brilliant. I cannot work out if the perspective is way out or spot on with the doll's house window display. Any thoughts gratefully accepted

Comedy double acts forced to double up with rivals in new venture has hard times hit the business.

So much wrong with this perspective wise but sorry no time to fix. Sorry Steve

Spot on Frank and Loyd

Our dearest site owner has yet again procured another delightful shop front (it goes without saying that we hope he--Steve--recovers to do many more shop fronts!), and so after some considerable thought ( two seconds), I decided to use the "The Sinclair Method" to bring the "best" out of it.

Excellent idea Michael.

I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to come out to play for a couple of weeks. Not sure when I will be back but hopefully it will be soon but it might be intermittently. I will be keeping my eye on all your efforts, though.

Very clever Michael! Your ability to "think outside of the box" I find enlightening.

Re: Challenge 904: Little & Large
First to fill the dog shop this week was Frank, with a faked interior. There’s a huge amount going on here, from the dolls over the door to the packets of dog food outside. I like the logo in the window, and the subtle glazing. Tremendous, Frank.

A fin selection of lookalikes from lwc, pasted in the window. Glad those people-from-behind are coming in useful.

A complex theatrical setting from tooquilos, with the shop repurposed from dogs to girls. A beautifully constructed doll’s house interior. I like the passing reflect4ed traffic in the animated version, and the subtly turning doll outside. Clever.

Comedy duo time from Ant Snell, featuring not only Little and Large but Cannon and Ball (if you didn’t grow up in the UK in the 70s none of this will make any sense to you). A good stab at the interior, with as you say a few perspective issues.

It seems this week’s Challenge wasn’t to michael sinclair’s taste, but then you can never tell these days. I like the construction of the smashed window and the artfully placed Condemned notice. Not sure about the firebombing, especially the vertically-flipping flame.

An intriguing reverse view from Mariner, with an entirely rebuilt shop interior. Very clever - I like how the shadows match the window shapes. The floor could do with either some carpet or, if you want to keep it that smooth, some reflection.

Thanks, Anna. It took a while to come up with a new angle.

Thanks, Steve. If I had thought of reflections I would have put them in.
