Challenge 910: Going Platinum
This weekend the UK celebrates 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. Personally I’m leaving the country to avoid the street parties.

HM the Q has, to my eye, always had atrocious taste in clothes. Can you use this image and give her a more modern makeover? Something more fit for the 21st Century?

Here's an animated one I did earlier (10 years ago) entitled "We are not amused".

I think it's dignified and respectful, and I think it's interesting to see a race change: a sort of "what if?"

When I'm at the osteopath's, tomorrow, I'll be screaming ow, ouch, and the osteopath will say "Where does it hurt Mr Sinclair" and I'll reply: "In my wallet!

If the Queen were to make a state visit to Afghanistan, The Taliban regime recommend the following appropriate attire:

Pity the image is degraded so much. The original is 3000 by 2000 so it was difficult to get it small enough and still fairly presentable.

Wonderful idea, have you thought of posting through Flickr, then you can post as large as you like.

Thanks Vibeke. I joined once before but forgot my password. During the time I had changed my e-mail address so the rest goes through to my old e-mail.. I do post full images in my gallery at Daz, Linkedin etc when and if they pass the grade...lol

Love the merch Anna - and the wink at the end - also impressed with Ants steampunk version and Franks Biker Queen

Re: Challenge 910: Going Platinum
First to liven up HM the Q was Josephine Harvatt, with a dig at the fact that Prince Charles is still waiting for his crack at the throne. A cute idea - but that hat really clashes with the black and white coat!

It’s full metal jacket from GKB, with a platinum monarch: good and shiny she is, too. I wonder if a big dollop of Median filter would smooth out that texture?

Interesting to see michael sinclair’s image from the previous jubilee - subtle and thoughtfully done. I’m intrigued by how recognisable she is in the Taliban-approved version, just from those eyes. A good fit. And I do like the version with the hat.

A racy new costume from Vibeke, which actually suits her remarkably well. That’s a seriously textured jacket! And I do like the added corgis.

The transformation into the Red Queen from dwindt is splendid, with a grotesque set of Alice in Wonderland characters and a surprisingly racy Alice. I like how you’ve distorted the Queen’s features. An ingeniously wrought second entry, with the platinum Queen and frame: separating the elements has really made a difference to the metallic result.

A fun anniversary doll from tooquilos, wearing a curious haircut. Is this based on a real doll? The gloved hands are very cute. I like the merchandise in the animated version, with her image plastered on a range of household objects. The different treatments for different surfaces work really well, and that animated corgi at the end is fun.

A fine steampunk makeover from Ant Snell, with great makeup and eye patch. Looks like she’s been going to Anna’s hairdresser. I like those buttons!

A decidedly avant-garde costume from Frank, her head fitting neatly onto the new body. Maybe consider tinting the face so it matches the colour of the hand?

A spinning commemorative medal from lwc - and I like the way the lighting changes as it turns. That’s a very curious way to do text around a circle, though: Text Warp produces a most unusual effect.

A charming image from Mariner, with a slimmed-down monarch in part shadow. I stared at this for a while trying to work out what was wrong with the bench, and I think it’s the angle of the sides compared to the angle of the girls’ feet. This is what I mean:
