Challenge 933: The steam drill
The Charles Burrell Museum in Thetford, Norfolk, contains a small but interesting collection of mainly steam-driven machines. I was particularly impressed by this steam-powered drill, which looks like a mighty piece of equipment. (I was perplexed by the No One placard for a while, before I realised what it really meant.)

Can you show me it in action?

High res is here.

driling
This is a fine example of a belt driven drilling machine and an even better example of poor sign usage !!
(No one ) should be with a raised 'O', I don't know how to that on my keyboard ! I think they should have left it with the machines large '1' on the main casting.
All the best from Neale.

Thanks Mariner and Ben - when I first saw that I went blank for ideas and decided not to to try it.
As far as the "No One" my guess is it's an abbreviation for "Number One" (work station ?)

Thanks Gordon - great animation with lots of moving parts and good sound effects - just needs a few sparks and smoke now to top it off

Missed you
