Yes - a friend showed me those recently. Amazing. Given that they're all taken from a helicopter, I can't understand how he managed to get that degree of clarity. Fantastic stuff.

These are truly fantastic images. Judging by the digital noise in some of the shots, I'd guess the ISO setting was cranked up, but modern cameras, particularly from the Nikon stable, have amazing low noise capability, thereby allowing faster shutter speeds.

Ha, glad you liked them. He had a custom camera mount or Gyro stabilizer to reduce the vibrations - and shot when their was just enough ambient light to get the shot with ISO & IS lens. They're some wonderful shots - maybe one day I'll graduate myself to that caliber of equipment/experience

You really should take a trip in a helicopter one day! You can get a 1hr private tour "fairly" cheap. Best bet is to find a private helicopter owner as they'll give the best rates, and my even be willing to charge at cost (cutting the price in 1/2). It really is an unforgettable experience - make sure they remove the doors if you bring the camera!
