Worth £300?
Fluid Mask There was a link to this on another forum, looks impressive (I wonder if it's that simple in reality?) but is it really worth that amount of money? http://www.dcpsystems.co.uk/ The link is toward the bottom of the main page, second line under the News heading. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

I don't think ANY Photoshop plugin is worth that amount of money. |

I wasn't impressed. The demo cut images out of simple backgrounds. I can do the same thing with Photoshop's native tools. Now if they cut an image out of a complex background with several colors and patterns, then it would be worth it. |

I think they all claim to be a panacea for your cutting out problems, but at the end of the day there is no easy way to mask off difficult backgrounds that doesn't involve lots of fiddly selection work. I agree with Neal the example pics weren't exactly the most taxing of problems and nothing that the Select/Color Range... tool couldn't handle equally as well. Even the Background Eraser Tool could do this job without much of a problem (even though I hate that tool, so imprecise) So is it worth £300? That depends on whether it can do a better job than the native PS tools or whether it's just bait for lazy Photoshoppers, I'll stick to tried and tested methods, like using the Channels to find a good contrast to create an effective mask ideal for masking hair or fur. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |
