Free and powerful special effects software
This is one for anyone creating videos that might require fireworks, flames, explosions or any of a multitude of VFX. Boris FX has a very powerful special effects programme available as a completely free download. The programme contains thousands of effects all of which are adjustable. It is very easy to use with a very shallow learning curve. It’s available for both MAC and Windows. While the stand alone programme is completely free there is a paid for version that integrates directly as a plug-in with After Effects and has many extra bells and whistles ... but for a cost. Rather than explain what it can do just go to borisfx.com and check out their videos. As an example I used one of their firework settings to create the vintage Flash Gordon style rocket exhausts in this week’s FC 892. _________________ Time flies like an arrow but fruit flies like a banana. |

Looks very impressive Gordon, certainly has a spectacular array of effects. Downloaded it - now all i need is some time to play and 100% sure I'll be using some.Thanks. |

The name puts me off!!!!  _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
