Re: Jigsaw Puzzle
Excellent, Dalton. Drawing your own puzzle pieces certainly helps get around the edge problem (that is, the lack of one) using the built in filter. Your pieces are, though, too regular - imagine trying to solve a puzzle where all the pieces are exactly the same shape!

Some great touches in there, though. I particularly like the way Bob's tedy bear is straddling the piece.

You don't like to make things easy do ya? ... tis true I took the quick and easy way out and just duplicated the same shape a few times .... had another go and drew a few different shapes this time... still duplicated a few though lol... these puzzles are harder than they look.... my head was turned trying to do this one..... then I wished I had picked a better pic to do it with...

BIG giant version here lol..... ok ok... not really... just a bit bigger

Re: Jigsaw Puzzle
Here's the lines I drew out at the beginning... then just followed Steve's idea. This pic is reduced for the forum...
I s'pose you could define this as a pattern and use it to make other jigsaws??.. not sure if that would work..... or maybe make a new brush?.... dunno... lemme know

Edit: just noticed I missed a line up near the top there lol.... just imagine it's there

I think you still need to play with it a bit because now the separation lines appear raised rather than indented. Please do not be put off by my comments, they are well intended.

My mistake, I had the lighting of the filter in the wrong direction. The hole lighting does not match the puzzle's.... And I am not put off. I really like your comments (and everyone else's), they make us think and try better.

Re: Jigsaw Puzzle
I have been doing the jigsaw look for a whie now and have some large prints done in this way but I always used the pen tool to cut out the pieces - not any more - thanks for the tutorial - this makes life so much easier - just one question - I work on large images and the pieces are too small - even when scaled at max 200% - is there a way to get the pieces bigger?
