Thin grayish lines can also be made thicker by duplicating the Layer (more than ones) and be Merged. They have to be black to track down a selection from it and after that to make a path. You see that the selection did not take all the lines, but I didn't mind for this image. I have tried to drag down the lines of the web with Filter»Liquify, but unfortunately it's hard to see (in the filter and on the result). Maybe Puppet Warp would have made something better out of it (haven't tried it yet).

By the way, the thin lines (the smaller ones) in Puffin's post are very clear!

Re: Multiple Open Paths
Excellent Sjef!
I was going to say webs are transparent, which they are unless get the dew on them which you have done excellent job on. Actually even without dew they refract the light so depending on lighting conditions you can "see them".

But even more than this, I watched a larger spider consume a poor little ladybird in its web. There is no dew here, just the droplets of the "glue" on it that ensnares them and the spider can prance around with impunity.

Here is an enlarged focused version, top left.

"All" I am saying is very well done and can confirm from nature I've seen what you have done is very good to say the least.

This web might be a bit battered, but that is because it has been blown by the wind and caught several victims.

More than this (as in addition) I love Angela's creation. Its taking me on a sort of Rachel O'reilly trip, but not quite the same, she never made spiral as far as I know (Gordon, cover your eyes! )

Re: Multiple Open Paths
That's a beautifully clear photograph Trevor. It would be very difficult (but not impossible) to imitate that in Photoshop. You might have to spend days doing individual strands. My idea was to add the dewdrops to the web. This can be done by stroking the paths with a brush, but first you must set the scattering and other parameters as Sjef has shown. Here is the sort of result I have so far not succeeded in achieving:

And here is a larger ladybird consuming a poor little louse

Your idea to add drops is very time consuming Mariner.
