Luis, That was an absolute treat to watch. I marvel at the thought processes that led to the final image. Gordon |

Luis - a great demonstration of what can be achieved. How long did the experimentation process take to reach the final outcome?. Nick |

Re: Cork Board Texture
Thanks Gordon and Nick for you comments.
Nick, I started experimenting back in September 2007. What you see in the first 6:08 min of the video (except the Layer 1 copy layer) is what I started with. Then I started to mix different Patterns, filters, colors and change layer blending modes to see what I would get. As the layers kept pilling up and saving different documents, the more I forget what filters I used. When I'm experimenting, I don't keep a note on what settings I used. So I would start over. I think have about eight different .psd files until I came up with the results shown in the tutorial. Luis |

There's an lot of work gone into that. How long does it take you to work out the technique for these? _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |

Re: Cork Board Texture
David, If I were going to create some type of texture, I would search the web for that type of texture first. Then in photoshop, I would just mess with different patterns to see what I can come up with that kind of looks like the original texture. Once I get something that I like, I then try to simplify the steps and try not to make it to complicated. It might take me several days or months. Luis |

I guessed it wasn't a 10 minute thing. The effort you've put into it really shows, too. _________________ A happy-go-lucky chap, always dressed in black |

Re: Cork Board Texture
Excellent tutorial and very realistic corkboard texture must have taken quite some time trying out different textures, layers and blending modes. Truly professional end result. Becky |

Re: Cork Board Texture
Luis, great cork board tutorial, very detailed but clear instructions. Many thanks. I never thought of using textures in layer masks and have never really used the non-default textures. I have now also downloaded and watched all of your other tutorials which are very good as well. I especially like the production of the paper clip. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your next tutorial. Vern |
