Creating a Jigsaw Puzzle
I have a new tutorial on creating a jigsaw puzzle. You may have seen one my pictures that I created of this effect. I know that there was a topic on this effect posted here, but I wanted to show how I created this. So I hope you all don't mind if I posted a tutorial on this. I hope you like this tutorial. Hmm interesting. Is this documented? I wonder how many other of these hidden things there are. Why doesn't it say in the lens flare window "ALT-CLICK in preview for precise positioning" There is plenty of space. |

I read the lens flare tip in a book at one time. Then I remembered it so I put it on my site. It was an interesting tip. Luis |

Great Jigsaw tutorial Luis. When I tried this, I did find that the gap between the pieces was a little large, so I expanded the selection by 1 pixel. I guess that this will depend on the resolution of the file and the size of the pieces. Nick |

Nick, you can try two things. You can increase the Tolerance for the magic wand tool or press Ctrl L to add a levels to the puzzle pattern and change the 255 of the input levels to something like 200. This will make the black lines thinner. Then create your puzzle. The reason I did not do this in the tutorial, I kept getting different results and the edge of the pieces were not smooth. Luis |

Yes, I had to smooth the selection as well. The pattern seems to vary on some pieces, but overall the effect is excellent. Nick |
