Len's Flares -- Precise Positioning (PS Tip)
LENS FLARES -Precise Positioning : 1. Place intersecting guides where you want lens flare 2. With Move Tool active select "Info" and navigate to intersection of guides and note X and Y co-ordinates 3. Create a new layer , fill with black , and convert to Smart Object 4. Go to Filter > Render > Lens Flare 5. Select your type of flare and size and HOLDING “OPTION “/ ALT key click on the flare" Preview window "pane which brings up the “Precise Flare Center” where you can enter your co-ordinates. Press OK. 6. Change blend mode to “Screen” Note: If effect too strong try “Blend If” sliders. Advantage to this procedure over dragging to position is you will not see any seams or edges and the angle of flare will be correct. Because it’s a Smart Object you can change your settings and or opacity. |

Yes. I'd also suggest creating the flare on a larger image, so you can reposition it without bits of flare being cut off at the edges. |

Yes, that would certainly do the trick with manual positioning. |
