Duplicate text block
Hi all,

Page 101, item 8 is about separate text blocks and duplicating
them. Can one duplicate a text block in some other way than
typing the text which then resides on its own text layer and making a copy of the layer (Ctrl J)?
Is it so that each separate text block always resides on its own
text layer?

Please advice,
Martti

Re: Duplicate text block
Hi Martti,
When you have typed the text you can click on the text layer in the layers panel and drag it down to the create new layer icon( next to the trash can at the bottom of the layers panel) ,or you can type the text and then shift/click in the document to instantly create a new text layer above the previous one. Anything you type after the shift/click will appear on that new layer. These text blocks can now be moved around the document individually which allows greater control over how the text is placed in the document. It is really about using techniques to allow changes to be made easily if the need arises. It will save you a lot of work and frustration in the long run if you can make your images as editable as possible.
Hope this makes sense and helps

Wayne
