Outline and fill
I'm having a problem...when I complete the drawing (pen tool) and stroke the path(s), I end up with a mess!

Under "more info" (pg 55), instructions are to hold control and click anywhere away from the path.....when, exactly? After using the pen tool but before "convert point tool", or after both?

Also, when I've completed the drawing, I end up with just one path - that can't be right, right?

Help???? Joey

Re: Outline and fill
This should be fairly easy to sort out.

The Pen tool wants to draw a single path, and if you're drawing multiple paths, you need to stop them all joining together. After drawing each path, hold Command/Ctrl and click somewhere to the side of it. This will deselect it, so that you can start the new path afresh (while the first one is still visible).

As for stroking the paths... it all comes down to using a small, hard-edged brush (don't use the Edit > Stroke command). Switch to the Brush tool, while the paths are still visible, select your brush size and colour, and hit Enter.

You could also use the Esc key to stop the Path tool. Click for the next path. It's 1/10 of a second faster. To get rid of the path lines after stroking the path(s), hit the Delete key.
