Creating 3D out of 2D image
Vibeke was kind enough to give me a selection of textures that she had photographed. This particular image is the result of a CD zapped in a microwave (dont try that at home ).

so using this image as my base, I created a 3D spinning orb from scratch using After Effects

Amazing, I will have to send you all my photos, so you can work your magic on them.
Just one correction, this image was a macro of crunched cellotape and 2 polarizing filters.

Beautiful. It's not just mastering the applications, it's the sheer elegance of the arrangement and virtual camerawork. Most impressed.

Thank you!! I was absolutely thrilled with the way this one turned out.

I realised afterwards Vibeke that I got the images confused!

Anna, that really is a lovely image.
You've got me interested in After Effects now - I presume a steep learning curve?

Wonderful work Anna. I have never seen After Effects, so don't understand what goes into something like this, but guess that your talent and skill is more than an essential element.

Beautiful Anna! A new dimension! 3D and + time. (4D?)

I can imagine you doing 4D space + time (~5D) with the Klein Bottle or something next?!

Thanks Nick Trevor and Deb!

If you can look at After Effects as the Photoshop cousin for video..you are half way there Deb. The 2 programs are quite similar and interact together very well. Its a bit daunting to begin with but sites like Video Copilot and Creative Cow are fantastic for tutorials.

Klein bottle hmmmm..Ive always associated them with hospitals and nursing homes...if you get my drift
