Exploration
Thought I'd share this one with you. Shot taken this morning of Freddie, one of my daughters Lion Head Rabbits, on one of their missions around the garden. I usually get to clean them out while they're doing this! Nick ![]() |

Re: Exploration
I like it! Perhaps the image could be improved by not placing the focal point (rabbit's eye) so close to the center of the frame. for additional information, see: http://www.digicamhelp.com/learn/shoot-like-a-pro/rule/ |

Re: Exploration
Thanks I'm quite familiar with the rule of thirds and aim for that as a matter of course. This image would have called for quite a severe crop to achieve that. Nick |

Re: Exploration
Lovely pic Nick, he looks like great fun. Comment: Where as I appreciate that there are instances where a critique can be not only valuable but also very welcome, one must also realise that not ALL postings beg such a response. And in many cases, the post is purely for pleasure and friendly participation in a mutual passion for a subject. As it happens I have been taking photos for over 40 years, and yes I also learnt the rule of thirds many years ago, I also no that rules are made to be broken and that sometimes a 'snap' can bring more pleasure than a carefully set-up shot. See attached my snap of Rosie our mini dachshund and one of Steve skeletons. But the really great news is that my book (100% in PS) just arrived from the US, can't wait!! Re: Exploration
I did not mean to offend anyone. In retrospect, perhaps I should of refrained from offering any advice. My intent was to be helpful and not critical of the image. I like the image. As a photographer myself, I tend to welcome any and all critiques as it gives me the opportunity to "view" my work from different perspectives. |

Re: Exploration
No offence taken by me JW, maybe it just me being a bit touchy today. But sometimes I think that people just want to share what they feel is a 'happy snap' and are not looking for anything else. Re: Exploration
Please accept my assurance that I'm the last person to take offence at critique, providing it's constructive and well intended, which I'm sure was the case here. Many thanks for your comments Mark and I agree with your view. There are pictures caught on the spur of the moment to capture an event and those which are taken for publication or gallery exposure. In my view every image serves a purpose and should be viewed accordingly. I see so many shots on picture websites where, for example, an horizon line in a seascape is not level and I'm the first to steam in an make comment. After all, its the only way to learn, but as Mark has said, there are occasions where the 'golden' rules can be broken. Nick |

Re: Exploration
Nick, for me, this image exudes a child like innocence. The way the little rabbit is partially hidden draws a sense of mischief. I enjoyed viewing it. Anna ![]() _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |
