Heading North
This is Britannia Class 70013 Oliver Cromwell crossing the Welwyn viaduct last Saturday morning at around 8am with the 'Christmas White Rose'. There is a great vantage point in a field about half a mile away, which overlooks the bridge and my plan was to capture the train there, but having passed and seen the sunrise, I decided to go for the silhouette instead.  |

Great photograph Nick. You have proved the adage that to achieve beautiful photography you need to be in the right place at the right time to capture interesting light from an interesting viewpoint... and then of course know what to do with the camera to get the desired result. Great photo Nick, and do love steam and the construction of viaducts. ( Only me, I might have put a bit more space in front of the engine, ...... i.e. as it goes into mysterious/void, but then will lose a lot. Just a minor comment. ) Difficult to capture I am sure. Thanks for sharing. Trevor |
