Knotty Problem with Digital Camera Filenames
I'm praying someone can help here. I have a project for my son's 40th birthday (Christmas day) putting together a photobook for him.

I have been given loads of pics from different people but can't distinguish which camera took them to pinpoint the person, time etc of when they were taken.

Can anyone tell me which camera saves their digital images as:

CNV0001, CNV0002 etc.

For example my Panasonic saves with 'P' at the front, my Nikon with 'DSC___' etc.

Any help much appreciated. Have drawn a blank on the net.

Thanks, in hope.

Sophie,

I think it's a Sony camera, possibly the DSCV-1 but other Sony cameras may well use the same image numbering system.

If you look at the file properties you it should tel you what kind of camera was used. Have a look at the Metadata in bridge.
good luck.

Hi Sophie
I think Vibeke is spot on. Bridge tells me everything about the shot, i.e. camera, lens, focal length used, ISO, shutter speed and whether the flash fired. Hope this works for you.

Good idea Vibeke. Unfortunately my version of Bridge doesn't give me the camera name but mentions the 'Application' which I presume is the camera software. After googling that, I think it may be a Fugi.

Thanks for your help everyone.
