Bolivian Andes to Brazil Amazon
This was taken from ~+5300m above the Altiplano (The high Plane) and La Plaz (highest city in the world). It looks E towards the Amazon of Brazil. Difficult to breath. Desert behind and then the clouds break. Mt Chacaltaya. Oh, its a scan from an old negative photo I took. Tried to fix a few things, but ??.... I have an old 360 degree, maybe later ... 1989 - no skiing then |

Thanks very much Michael. I'm interested in your Michael-esk version. I'm a chiaroscuro person often, as in Caravagio and Dutch, German style, well more .............. To be honest it is more like this http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap110417.html Nothing much grows at this altitude, survive just birds and spiders and us ... |

You've been to some wonderful places Trevor and the scenery in your shot is breathtaking. If that's a scan from an old neg, then I think you have done well. Nick |

I rather like the brooding darkness of the first. Maybe it could be a touch, just a touch lighter. |

I agree Sophie, the dark brooding quality of the first is nice, especially the sky. so thought I'd have a go my self, at just adjusting that and adding a few bits and bobs Simon |

Thanks very much for your comments Nick, Sophie and Simon. Yes agree could be a touch lighter and there were some colours left, but when compressed for the web the subtly starts to go and I preferred to sort of keep the tonal range and moody. Guess it comes from climbing in the north during winter, but sure same applies to Southern hemisphere. A link with higher res might have made a difference I like your creative rework Simon ! Thanks! I might send the 360 later. Trevor |
