Completely off topic but TOO GLORIOUS TO MISS
I have just returned from Vienna. On a shopping trip in the city we visited a very high end fashion store where I discovered a truly wonderful window display. Some of the most accomplished and sumptuous paper sculpture I have ever seen. Just glorious! It echoes Vienna's baroque past with a definite nod to Mozart who spent his later life there.

My first reaction when I saw the name of the designer Asya Kozina (together I suppose with associations with origami) I assumed these must be the creation of a Japanese. When later I did an internet search I discovered that in point of fact they are the work of a Ukrainian lady. You can see more of her astonishing work here.

Amazing work. But why paper? Would it last?

No. It must have a 'shelf life', but I suppose window displays aren't meant to be permanent. Apparently she even creates paper wedding dresses!

Perhaps impermanence is part of the philosophy ..... like Andy Goldsworthy's nature sculptures.

Mind you, having said that, I'd hate to be the one given the job of throwing them away!

Very nice and time consuming. My grandson's wouldn't hesitate in disposing of them..lol. Should preserve them in a block of resin. That would look grand with creative lighting.
