Video2Brain: The Austrian sessions
You may remember that I spent a week in Graz, Austria, at the end of last year, recording a set of four tutorials.

I'm pleased to announce that these have now gone live, and are available from my own page on video2brain.

There are four tutorials in the series so far:

Smart Objects
A thorough exploration into the nature, use and reason for this most interesting Photoshop technology. It's one of the most underused features in the program, but is of huge benefit - find out what makes it so valuable.

Photoshop without Photographs
Chapter 1 from 100% Photoshop, in which I build the detective's hallway from scratch. For anyone who's had trouble with any aspect of this chapter - including creating the wood pattern, and building the door - here's a straightforward workthrough that shows exactly how it's done.

Day for Night
A complete montage from beginning to end, in which I turn a daytime scene into a night scene. Techniques include two methods for replacing skies, masking, adjustment layers, and much more.

Creating Perspective
Hate drawing in perspective? Can't get your head around the rules? Finally, here's a comprehensive guide to working with this tricky problem that affects all our Photoshop work.

Hope you find these useful!

Steve

20% off until end of March!

I've managed to sort out a promo code for all Forum members... simply enter the code PS20 in the coupon field for a 20% discount on all four videos.

But be quick - the code expires at the end of March!

Re: Video2Brain: Special Forum discount
Aah! too many to chose from! I'm about to embark on Chaper1 of 100% so that looks like an essential. Perspective is a must. And the other two look pretty good with a 20% discount. Looks like I might have to raid the piggy bank.

Re: Video2Brain: Special Forum discount
Great venture Steve,

Trust and hope it works well for you.

I was going to suggest you might give us some discount, but hey I'm not that cheeky

I've booked one, well with 20% off it's not to be missed

Steve, side issue: the link to website server was playing up ("error....") , so had to try several times for each successive page.
Folks if you have same problem, persevere, it goes through.

Probable cause?: That said, maybe not their site problem, e.g I'm trying to book Virgintrain and thetrainline (s) online, website not available for the booking part. Just say working with our supplies, suggest come back tomorrow. What I want is to buy an early ticket to save money as they suggest! So I won't if they can't be bothered.

Look fwd to seeing it and another one soon, and more in the future.

Trevor

Re: Video2Brain: Special Forum discount
Anyone else got a problem with the 100% video. I don't see any video!
Dan from Video2brain is being really helpful and trying to find the problem.
I can watch it online or with the HTML start (once I've negotiated a page in German!) but the 'normal' start isn't allowing me to see the videos.
I have no doubt it will be sorted eventually but if anyone else has an issue it would be useful to know. Maybe it is just picking on me.
The perspective video works flawlessly - and is excellent. By the time I have watched it all I might be on the way to understanding it AND being able to put it into practice.
Thoroughly recommended

Re: Video2Brain: Special Forum discount
Angela,

I only downloaded 100%. In the zip extracted folder seems a bit embedded, but seems to be working for me. ("***" replace my name for security). From a PC:->

in C:\Documents and Settings\***\My Documents\Downloads\training_photoshop_without_photographs\training_photoshop_without_photos

In that folder click on start client application brain2brain icon ... seems to bring all up okay, but I've not had chance to see all yet

oops I seem to miss the 20% off for the other one I wanted. I use Smart Objects, but missed some final steps from Steve on RetouchPro video live when get interrupted or tired and can't pause. Pity they don't extend same uTube privilege outside US.

Re: Video2Brain: The Austrian sessions
I recently downloaded the video "Smart Objects". I had no idea of the power of Smart Objects and once you learn how to use them and work with them I doubt very much you could go back to the conventional methods.

Thank you Steve for such an insightful and informative tutorial!
Anna

Re: Video2Brain: The Austrian sessions
My problem with the 100% video is now sorted. Video2Brian were very helpful.
After Anna's recommendation I will be saving up for the 'Smart Objects' video. But first I have to get my head around perspective
