Related to chapter 6 - snapping shape layers ???
Hi , i wanted to draw a simple box like you have in chap 6 using shape layers . I was having a lot of trouble aligning the edges of each part of the box . I have "snap to grid" turned on and used transform>distortion to align the shape but somehow the snapping was not happening...I also use "snap to pixels" but no luck.. am i missing something ? |

Snapping will be of no help to you here. I'm afraid you just have to do it by eye. |

Hi Andrew, Sorry missed you're earlier post. This might be wrong, me missing something, but I do not think you need to do any Shape distortions. Its not vector masks, but pixel distortion. Save your work if want to go back and keep hig-res and pixel info. This is in-line with Steve's approach I think. To construct the box, as Steve says in step 9 copyto a new layer. You need to put it into perspective (not orthogonal 90% any more). I find Edit -> Distort, and messing around with edit handles best for that. So it should be like Step 9, or however you like it. Do the same for all the other sides of the box in new layers, with a bit of Edit Warp on the tops, or whenever you like Give me a shout, or the rest of us if does not work? See if I can help. I could make an Amazon box from scratch, tomorrow if you like.
