Still Life - The Final Chapter
Another great lesson Steve. As usual learned a lot and stumbled a few times -- had a bit of a problem with getting metal and glass effects to co-operate - still not entirely happy with the wine glass so I'll practice some more in the next book ( How To Cheat In Photoshop)- the book a relative newbie like me should have started with. Here's my final for this great book now maybe I might find some time for the Friday challenge. Large version here: http://users.eastlink.ca/~fbwhite/still-life.jpg Frank ![]() |

Very good! You've definitely for the right approach here. A few points, though: If the book is casting a reflection, then the candlestick needs to as well. The candle's bright spot is too white. It needs to be pale red at most. The glass needs to look more transparent. The best way to achieve this is for it to refract a view seen through it. Great hand! But did you draw it? |

Thanks Steve, So far I've worked on the candlestick reflection and the candle -- still haven't got the wine glass to my satisfaction -- re the hand -- I traced an outline and worked from there -- my father and younger brother are natural artists and musicians but unfortunately those genes seemed to have skipped me -- although I seem to have an eye for photography and composition -- Thanks Frank |
