Setting The Scene - Chapter 2
Here is my version for this chapter. I'm not sure if I got all the shadows correct or the scale of objects.

Really nice Luis, I like dark colours you use in your work, very atmospheric

Re: Setting The Scene - Chapter 2
Hi Luis,
I like the modern take on this, and really like the vinyl floor design.
I think the chairs and table are a little small, especially against the door. And the door needs for the bottom rail needs to be higher, unless of course it is uPVC, in which case there would need to be a frame fixed to the floor that you can trip over!
I attach a sketch of common dimensions of a door of this design.
A dado rail is normally 900mm or 3' up the wall (put there to protect the wall from chair backs)!
Hope you don't mind me saying all this

Re: Setting The Scene - Chapter 2
Thanks Artwel and Deborah.

Deborah,

Thanks for your input and the dimensions of a door. It would help me make any corrections that needed to be fixed. I don't know why I did not think about the dimensions before. I'm usually picky about the details in my creations. When I started in creating the chairs, I was not sure how big they should be. I did thought they were kind of small, but did not make any corrections. I will try to make corrections about the chairs.

I'm always having problems with the scale of objects.

Luis

Re: Setting The Scene - Chapter 2
Great Luis. I do agree with Deborah about the size of the furniture and I think the legs would be casting a shadow where they meet the carpet. I believe they would also be darker, particularly at the top, where they wouldn't catch the light from the window and door. I'm not sure why the chair on the right has much lighter legs on the right, as there is no obvious light source?

Overall, this is great with superb atmosphere.

Nick

Re: Setting The Scene - Chapter 2
I have done my final version for this project. I decided to go with Black and White and made several changes. I'm happy on how this turned out. So I hope you all like it as well.

Beautiful painted wood, Luis. And very nice lamps. These small lightsourses! Couldn't quit distinquish what the small things are at the bottom af the chair legs. Not micro wheels I suppose. The silhouette left behind the window give this project some extra tense: what is the other person talking about...
Thanks Deborah for the dimensions of a door. I'll keep your picture on my harddisk.
Now suddenly I see your B/W version! The beautiful lights are gone, the chairs now stands unlogical with too strong shadows and now the large window seems out of proporsion. It wasn't small in the first place, but it looks like a shop window now. However, it still is a great picture with a lot of work in it
