Problem wtih Turning Path Extrusion to a Revolve
Hello,

I am using the latest version of Photoshop CC 2014, 64 bit on a Mac, latest version of Mac OS (10.2.2).

The exercise on pages 28 and 29, where the object is drawn from the brush tool onto a layer, and then that layer being used as the source for the extrusion, works fine. I can recreate the rendered image in the text.

On pages 30 and 31, however, where the work path is used as the source for extrusion, I'm not having any luck. Page 30 is fine, but when I set the extrusion depth to zero and the horizontal angle to 360 degrees and then subsequently set the deformation axis to the right edge, the magic isn't happening. Only the path I drew with the pen tool displays onscreen.

There must be something different between extruding a layer and a work path that I must have missed. After the rendering, the shape preset is a solid white box. The camera views are mostly solid as well, but the top view displays a circle.

Has anyone else gotten lost as this point? I'm dead in the water.

Thanks!

Greg

Disregard. I wasn't drawing a wide enough path for the glass. For some reason that made a difference. Case closed.

Thanks.
