Viva plastic wrap!
After my switch to the dark-side, I have been messing around with creating wallpaper for MacDesktops.

This is my latest creation. Let me know what you think.

That's pretty effective, David.

So you're with the Mac set now. Oh well that's something well beyond my budget at the moment, even the new Photoshop will have to be put on hold for a good while yet.

Yes, I have a shiny new Mac - and a grubby old monitor but you can't have everything

It'll probably be a while before I get my mitts on CS2 too (Photoshop ballet-wear)

Re: Viva plastic wrap!
I'm in the process of saving some money via my work's saving scheme. When I started as a busdriver they offered a £520 incentive (too few busdrivers apparently) so they pay £10 a week into a company saving scheme and I have another £10 a week paid in via my wages of which I can withdraw on the money the company pays in after 1 year continuous employment with my money added to it then it will be just over a £1,000 which is earmarked for a laptop computer. Unless I suddenly come into some more money (lotto or bankrobbery) then the idea of moving over to iMac or getting CS2 is off the cards. I'm not even going to download the trail version because it would just upset me.

That's a real shame, Becky, you'd really like CS2.

You can get a 14" Mac laptop for £899, you know...

Great image, David. You've been watching the promo movies for Spotlight, I see!

Re: Viva plastic wrap!
I would like to do that, however it would cost ten times that buying Mac software to replace my PC software, so I'm stuck with terrible Windows for the foreseeable future.

Thats a nice looking picture Dave. The whites clash a bit, but I always love pictures of something popping out of a moniter.

I use Windows and plan on keeping it that way (But I'm a gamer too) .

The 17" G5 iMacs are around £900 too, it seems the age of the 'affordable' Mac is well and truly with us.

Have I missed something? I don't remember seeing any leaping tigers! Just my luck to be less than original again

Spotlight is great, especially when you compare it to Windows's rather chugging search facility. App of the moment, however, is iPhoto - it's a great program and the auto-enhance is virtually spot on!

Re: Viva plastic wrap!
A shiny new mac? You won't look back - jigsaw sometimes do offers on monitors if an when you decide to get one. what model did you get? and I know a good place for memory, (mine up to 3gb now!!).

As for the image, clean and slick and if the tiger didn't look like it had been shot from below but was leaping out of and onto the floor or title it would have had a more dramatic impact for me.

App of the moment surely has to be the F9 key!!!!

I have the single 1.8ghz G5 which now has 1.25gb RAM. Apart from some odd crashes and niggles, I love it!

The tiger was an image I found on MorgueFile, it's stuffed and mounted in an American museum somewhere. I thought it gave the impression of being unleashed.

Welcome to the Dark Side, David. Once you cross over, you never go back.

I'm envious. You have a G5 and Tiger, while I have a small iMac running OS 9. My friend has a G5 and it scares me. It's big. And every once and a while, the dual fans kick in, breathing a heavy, powerful puff, like a bull before it charges.

Enjoy.
