The colours in the original were beautifully saturated. What happened to them?

Clearing my head for new parts. ... there may be some truth to that!

Steve, I LOVE your separation.
I think it's got something, it looks really good.

Re: Contest 145: The robot head
Thanks for the comments.
Good job on these images.

Quick description of my head for those interested.

Select the head to it's own layer, change mode to hard light.

Create a neutral grey layer and paint in some detail with dodge/burn.

Duplicate the layer.
Apply chrome to one and plastic wrap to the other.
Experiment with blend modes such as hard light etc.

Blend layers with masks.

This is a variation of effects described in the book on pp. 213, 225 and elswhere.

Re: Contest 145: The robot head
Tom, thank you for sharing. I spent about 2 hours trying. Obviously my second entry reflects my results. (pun intended)

Wayne, that's cool.

2BFree, just scratching it, right?

Very inspiring week. Awesome all around!

Yes Daling, I'll be home soon. Things are getting quite surreal around here at the moment.

The title of the Dali background is, would you believe, 'Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee

Re: Contest 145: The robot head
Tom thanks for the 'how to'. I started out on a similar road but never thought of applying plastic wrap and chrome.

Some terrific entries this week.
