Re: Challenge 751: St Martin's in the Fields
All very interesting. Love whats coming out so far but i'm not going to be roped in. So tempted but no. I'm trying to puzzle how the original steam drill side legs attached to the drill's body in Epstein's sculpture. I'm going to drive that project, even if it takes me the rest of the year...damn but that church looks interesting. No. Enjoy guys and gals. Watching quietly from the outskirts. Enjoy. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Gordon - This is just splendid!! The swimmer in the opening really had me giggling and the bulldozer clearing the trees comes as a real surprise. One of your best Gordon. Loved it! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 751: St Martin's in the Fields
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Just over a year ago I had the idea for almost exactly this animation and actually started to prepare many of the png files. For various reasons I put the project on hold before getting very far into it. As soon as I saw Steve’s image of St. Martin’s I knew where this project was going. Looking forward to seeing how everyone tackles it this week. _________________ Always remember that you are unique - just like everyone else. |

That's a brilliant video Gordon. I sometimes have a great idea to go back to Constable's time, or before. Of course I would need to take a doctor, and a dentist, anaesthetics, a flack jacket, and a machine gun with plenty of ammo, and a small tank, and, and, and, well, maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all. |

Thanks Michael... particularly the dentist and doctor. That mediaeval medicine scares the willies out of me.
Excellent idea Derek. Even my wife said that I should do something with that pond. Watch this space ![]() _________________ Time flies like an arrow but fruit flies like a banana. |

Yes. The past is not always quite as ideal as we would like to think. No HotChips either ........ ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 751: St Martin's in the Fields
Thanks Anna. The sleigh was just an extra bit of silliness I found while I was searching PixelSquid for some vehicles to cross the bridge. The ice cream van referred back to its appearance earlier in the animation. Did I detect a stained glass window from an earlier FC in your animation? _________________ ![]() |

Re: Challenge 751: St Martin's in the Fields
Footnote: I had a vague memory of seeing a cartoon many years ago which was the basis for my own animation. This, too, used Constable's Haywain as the basis. This morning, I thought I would just do a little bit of research and quickly came up with this:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtw7KcYNMDc The original was called 'For Your Pleasure" and was written, directed, produced and animated by Derek Phillips. It was released in 1971 with everything being hand drawn and animated. As it's on YouTube you will have to wait for a couple of seconds before you can skip the ads. _________________ Always remember that you are unique - just like everyone else. |
