					Contest 132: Property for sale
This week's challenge comes courtesy of Steve Mac, who spotted this gas station for sale near his home. What an opportunity for refurbishment! Can we bring some life back into the old building?
High res is here - and Steve's also provided us with some pumps to help us in our task. |

Well, this is my first challenge, so I hope would like you. I've tried to refurbish this gas station to a vintage old-fashioned style, cause there's enough modern design all around us. A little of romantic styl¡sh for a building usually seen as a "dirty" or "oily" place. I miss the spirit of the old gas stations because has a touch of magic and charming that nowadays is lost. btw, I'm glad of share this tryout with all of you. Greetings from Spain.

As the latest report on Global Warming has just been issued I figured that all old petrol stations should be closed down and re-developed to give us something more suitable for the new, warmer conditions. ![]() |

Wellcome Deja_vu, I do like your station. May I suggest to remove the tyre marks from the foreground (no offence) GKB, is the location a secret, or VIPs only. |

I couldn't move the building, so I built a fence in the back to hide the ugly background as much as possible. Had to install a new door that was handicap accessable due to the new ADA (American Dissabilities Act) regulations. Install a new pump due to the Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Used non-leaded paint also due to the Environmental Protection Agency Regs. Erected a new canopy that can withstand 100+ mile per hour wind load as per the Hurricane resistance regulations. Remodel came in right under 1 million dollars. LOL!! Going to have to sell a huge amount of gasoline to pay for this investment. ![]() _________________ "I haven't failed.... As usual, some really cool stuff. Amazing what you can do with such a modest starting point. I kind of went for the homey look. ![]() |
