I would say not, and this was no rush job. Poor chap lost his fag, I'll bet it singed his wiskers a bit.

James, I like his composition. The gentleman of the hammer is very graceful. When I watched the illustration of Dirtdoctor23 I had bad thoughts !

Michael went ahead!

Bad thoughts about what, Char?? I'm confused. It is just a picture of a building.

I was thinking of seeing what would happen if someone threw a lit cigarette in the corner of your station with the great name, but Michael beat me to it,dirtdoctor!

After having flattened the whole thing and not saving the layered version, I realized that my perspective is not quite the way it should be.
Aaaaargh!!!

Re: Contest 132: Property for sale
A first Challenge entry from Dejá_vu - and what a great piece of work this is. Beautifully restored, with immaculate lighting and shadows; the car fits perfectly with the mood. This is remarkably good work, it's a real pleasure to welcome you to the forum! The only criticism I feel duty bound to make is that the accents on your name should really be Déjà Vu...

A rather splendid holiday scene from GKB, who's taken the refurbishment to heart and transported the whole building to Hawaii, by the looks of it. Nice thatch!

Some very domestic garage doors - and even some stone cladding - from Steve Mac, who dreamt this Challenge up in the first place. Must have taken you a while to cut around all those hose pipes! A very convincing job, and the figure in the foreground adds a good sense of scale. I'd have liked a touch of shadow under the awning, though, to match the one under the car.

Good to see Vibeke back, with a far prettier building. Is that reflective glass in the windows, or is the undergrowth creeping inside? I suspect it's a reflection, in which case I feel I have to point out that there aren't any trees that close to be reflected! Like the window boxes, though.

An entertaining conversion from james, who has turned the building into an up-market shopping mall. Looks like a more interesting place to visit, but has everyone walked there? Where have they parked their cars??? I love the animated second entry! Excellent!

A great gag from j.harvatt, with a really funny newspaper page drifting beneath the ocean surface. Love the fish reading it! I'd have put a little shading on the paper to accentuate the bending effect, though.

Very clean work from Dirtdoctor23, with a well fitted out station - the new canopy is a great improvement, and the shadow it casts on the building behind is perfect. The signage seems a little restrained for the average gas station!

Well, Dave.cox's garage looks like the sort of place you might want to spend a whole afternoon, sitting out front lapping up the ...er... exhaust fumes... so that's why they don't have outdoor cafes in these places! Great work, but I find the pink brickwork a little off-putting.

So Michael Sinclair is going for bust again... we can barely see the well restored garage in the first pic, but by the third it's certainly well hidden! All the fun does hide a thoroughly good rebuilding job, of course.

Extremely graphic work from Ben Mills, whose garage has an almost cartoony feel: it's the flatness of the road, grass and sky that really draw the eye here. I'd love to see this one with more realistic textures, Ben!

Some fine nostalgia from Glosrfc, whose image of Trumpton brings back memories. For those who don't know it, this was an animated TV series back in the late 1960s on British TV. All together now: Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert Dibble, Grubb!

Another newcomer this week - and bonyman has clearly been dipping into that fly agaric. It's a great idea, though - that you can fill up on psychedelia from a roadside pump. The VW camper van is the perfect choice of vehicle, and the distortion works a treat! Great work, Callum, and welcome to the forum!

A rare entry from stefan, but what a terrific piece of work this is. There's a real sense of menace there, and the broken-away remains of the building are beautifully done, and there's a quality of lighting here that makes the scene come alive. A small perspective issue, as you say - but overall this is excellent! A most entertaining finish to the Challenge.

Thanks Steve. It took me over an hour just to cut around the hoses but now that the work is done...

Thanks for letting me get involved!

Thanks Steve,

Uh, the pink brinks come from the red clay, of which we have an over abundance of.
