Challenge 723: On your bike
I'm indebted to DavidMac for this week's starting image - a magnificent touring bike that he spotted recently in Aachen.

It could do with a rider, don't you think? And for those of you who want to move it to a better location, you have David to thank for the complexity of the cutout.

High res is here.

Hint: I found Photoshop CC's new Select Subject feature provided a remarkably good starting point for the cutout:

By "thank" I mean "blame". You have to do it yourself!

Re: Challenge 723: On your bike
Trickiest part of this which I hadn't anticipated was not the cut out (it's detailed but not tricky) but creating new reflections in all the chrome.

Loyd beat me to it with the glam lady ...... but I suspect ours may not be only ones to get draped over this. It does rather beg for it .........

The one in the middle looks not best pleased that the photographer seems to prefer the one behind her.

Ha... your glam is a lot more glam than mine.... Google image searches certainly yielded some interesting results...

Lookin' good there Gordon...

Yes Google can get 'entertaining'. Trying Glamour Girl and Black Leather produced quite an interesting variety of whips and riding crops .......

Best place often for inoffensive but really camp and outrageous glamour costumes, both women and men (gay), is the fancy dress costume catalogues. They can be really silly and OTT.

Thanks for the tip David, I was able to find an image that worked well for my entry. I've finished it and it has been uploaded to the hosting site... unfortunately it is under review by the hosting site censors. Hopefully they will release it soon...

Re: Challenge 723: On your bike
You know Gordon I keep returning to this photo. It's wonderful!

The orange scooter and helmet are so utterly typical of the era.

People like me, who are cooks, will also recognise the same orange from the Le Creuset pans and casseroles we got as wedding presents!

Although the word didn't exist then you do look, please forgive me, like the perfect nerd. I am good at 'nerd' because that was me then too ...... in spades ......

I wouldn't, the hype was a bit misleading and way OTT... it's more artsy-'tart'sy than anything. Certainly not risqué...

Still have the helmet ... just cooked a very nice lamb casserole in it. I got the recipe from ‘Cooking for Nerds’
