Challenge 866:The bank job
I noticed this incredibly cute bank building in the town of Stalham, Norfolk, a few weeks ago. I was also surprised by the fact that whole two of the windows are painted black, the door is white, and one window is white and grey.

As banks go, however, it doesn't look particularly burglarproof. How would you beef up its security? Or if you're of a more criminal disposition, how would you go about relieving it of its treasures?

High res is here.

Re: Challenge 866:The bank job - The new security arrives
Hopefully back on proper form this week. I really didn't know what to do with this rather unprepossessing little bank ......... so I just had fun!

This was harder than it looks. Surprisingly, despite a lot of research, I simply couldn't find a street to, even remotely, tie in with the bank. So, in the end, I had to build my own from multiple images.

But you're fetching a very good price for the day.

Funny we should both have transported this quaint little bank to period USA. It seems to fit comfortably.

I beefed up security by adding bars to the windows but you know..where there is a will there's a way

Yes, a very typical design for banks in 'Small-town' USA during the early to mid 1900s'.

HELP! I'm running out of Gold Stars

Perfect David: one of your best!

Anna that is so professional: the way the bank notes kept swirling towards you is sublimely wonderful!

PS: I did notice your clouds going at "Mach 2", and only michael sinclair is alowed to have his clouds going at Mach 2

We are fine. The Netherlands to the north has problems and south eastern Belgium too - in places very severe.

Thanks for asking. We are on high ground and the weather, after four days of rain, is beautiful and warm and sunny. But these things do sound a warning. With the leak in our roof still unresolved the last few days have been an interesting exercise in bucket emptying.

Re: Challenge 866:The bank job

This was a branch of Barclays and the windows at the front were white. Clearly another step in the demise of branch banking and I'd guess, like many others, it will become a coffee shop or pizza parlour with the most secure food store on the high street.

Welcome back, Nick. Long time no see. Clearly you have researched this, so I will repaint the front window.

Great gordon. Sadly I have to say I saw it coming the moment I saw your opening image. It's such a classic line!

But nicely done on your part!
