Nice work Frank

At the risk of invoking the wrath of CAPLIN.INC, I have created a slightly different perspective entitled The Ghost Ship

Thank you Michael and Michael.
I like your ghost ship and you are on the water so maybe the wrath won't be too harsh.

Can't say I was inspired by this one, but at least I managed to populate it.

A girl chucking her cookies into a fire bucket. A nice touch that, Vibeke!

Love the work Michael, but where did you get the uniforms from?

Thanks Michael. I found them on the net about five years ago.

I'm glad you like it, Anna. So it's a vent is it? I couldn't find it anywhere.

Re: Challenge 875: On the bridge
First to take the helm this week was lwc, with a captain on the deck. Nice lighting on the arms, but shouldn’t the shadow on the face match? Fascinating movement in the second entry, which really captures the sense of being at sea. And the lightning flashes are splendid. Entering Ben Mills territory in the third entry, but why is the parrot eating a miniature baguette? Much ingenuity in the arm movement in the fourth entry, as long as you don’t look too closely.

It’s Popeye time from DavidMac, complete with the adoring Olive Oyl by his side. Great use to the hands to hold the wheel, and I like how you’ve flipped the highlight to the other side. A good cartoon sea, too. Shouldn’t Ms Oyl have a reflection, though?

A very traditional ghost from tooquilos, the kind made of a bedsheet with holes for the eyes. A fine night view of the bridge, too. The skull island at the beginning of the animated version is terrific, as is the animated ghost. Making that wheel spin adds a lot, and the reflection in the porthole is a brilliant idea. Who’s the man struggling on the sand at the end?

A perfectly populated boat from Frank, with well-chosen characters and a fine new view. The captain needs to put his lieutenant in the brig, though, for turning up with his shirt untucked and letting his mates on the bridge.

A fine animation from michael sinclair, with a good rocking motion. I like the way the wheel spins back and forth. Quick question, though: if the viewer is standing on the boat, why isn’t it the sea that’s going up and down while the boat stays stationary?

I recognise (most of) the cast of Vibeke's entry, and I like how you’ve positioned the ‘captain’ to hold that wheel perfectly. Normally I’d question the position of the horizon, but I suppose boats do go up and down. The chundering woman is splendid!

An extraordinary rebuild from Mariner, who has spun the boat around so we’re viewing it from the opposite direction. That looks to me like it might be handmade wheel - but the brass thing (insert technical name here) is real enough, and that’s a good repurposing of the grey thing (ditto) that they\re fiddling with. I like the fact that your man has taken the front panel off the blue thing (ditto ditto) but I’d question both the size of his coffee mug and, indeed, its precarious placement. The view out the front, though, is glorious.

Thanks, Steve.
Yes, yes, and yes. The coffee mug is definitely in a dodgy spot. That's why the officer is keeping his eye on it. Good, difficult, Challenge.

Because it's the only parrot animation I had that I could adapt to sitting on someone's shoulder without starting over from 'scratch'...

Thanks Steve, a fun challenge!
