Challenge 892: Back to the future
The British Interplanetary Society was set up in 1933, composed of luminaries including Arthur C Clarke "for like-minded individuals to come together and consider the possibility of interplanetary exploration".

This prototype space suit was designed by their resident artist, Ralph Smith, and now the National Space Centre has brought it to life, complete with lunar shooting stick. (You can read more about the suit here.)

This is the best photo I could manage, given its glass case. Can you move it to a more appropriate setting?

High res is here.

"complete with lunar shooting stick" and a cricket umpires chair...

Hang, I'm tempted to model that.

Lovely stuff Frank and Lloyd.

I am likely to be absent for this and the next few challenges as I will be away from my machine and without anything but public internet access as well.

Have fun!

I am sorry to hear that, David. When are you likely to be back?

Not sure yet. I will be back for a few days next week and then gone again until late Feb. Closing down the old family home in Vienna. Huge task.

Great work Loyd!

The Mk 2 spaceman suit

The hardest part was reconstructing the left leg where the gauntlet had been.

I got a little carried away with the 'Back to the Future' idea.

Oh Gordon, that's epic - brilliant. The movie score really sets it off.

I burst out laughing, Michael. I don't know if it was intentional..or perhaps it's just unfortunate shadowing but it certainly showcases and protects his..um macho-ness

Loved your animation Gordon. Short but very well done, Anna.

Thanks Michael and Anna.
Anna I loved your idea of putting him (her?) under water and the sound track is one of my favourite tracks by The Carpenters … along with all their other recordings.

Great entertaining graphics from both Gordon, and Anna. Jerky Animations Inc can't compete.
