Challenge 968: The urban fox
Mariner will be delighted to hear I've been at the museums again whilst on my hols. First up is this splendidly-posed fox from the La Rochelle Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle. As fine as it looks in its museum mounting, I'm sure an urban setting would be far more appropriate for this nocturnal scavenger. High res is here.  |

This is interesting because you have placed the camera effectively at absolute ground level. Have to see how much that can cheated or worked around. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

We had a problem with one of these for several weeks, right in the heart of downtown Brussels! Can't pretend to be very happy with this .... but not quite sure why.

We used to live in the suburbs. Our garden fence was about forty feet long, six feet high and three inches deep. One bright sunny day a fully grown fox marched across the top of it, barely looking down. It's very unusual to see a fox around here. I expect the farmers shoot them. |

Harder than I expected - particularly like Loyds night cam - wish I had thought of that rather than fiddling around trying to make a nightime scene until I gave it up as a bad job But how could you do that to a poor pusscat Dave! Thanks David, Josephine, and Dennis. To be honest, I was really struggling to get a happy medium with the contrast and coloring of the fox's face. Finally gave up on that, cheated and went with night vision monochrome... the 'trail cam' was just a last minute thought. David your cat is bringing on Halloween. The local grocery stores here are already stocking their shelves and decorating for Halloween.... good grief, it's still August. |

Better than nothing I suppose. Very time-consuming, and as you can see I had problems removing POND 5 lettering from the fox.
