Challenge 969: Light my fire
I was surprised to see this array of fire engines parked up on a street in La Rochelle, given that there was no evidence of a fire for them to fight.

Can you show how they might spring into action in the event of a sudden conflagration?

High res is here.

On 30th June there was a big fire at the Town Hall, just around the corner from here.

I think you’ll find that was about 8 years ago. The Town Hall has since been restored (and very pretty it is, too).

Out of interest, what happened here?

Mine's alright...lol. Maybe the wall shattered when the Boks kicked the All Blacks' butts yesterday at Twickenham. That's why the roads are deserted. The English are planning their defense strategy for their clash against us.

My guess is that Steve adjusted the image to make verticals parallel and this is Photoshop's "intelligent" filling of the spaces left.

I was in Capetown the day of the world cup. I have never seen a city so deserted. Everyone inside glued to their TVs.

When my SA hosts discovered that I had lived for seventeen years less than a mile from Twickenham stadium and had never been to a game they decided I was mentally a few bricks shy of a full set!

Re: Challenge 969: Light my fire
I couldn't think of anything amusing or entertaining to do with this so I have settled for high drama.

Well ........ slightly higher than average drama.

Or more likely me making the verticals parallel and forgetting to crop the image afterwards.

Ah! Now I get it!

You made a new layer from the background and corrected that. What we are seeing is the original background peeking through.

I thought I was the one who did things like that ........
