For some reason had a stumbling time with this one this week. Maybe because summer is coming to a close too soon.

Ant thank you so much for explaining the reason you couldn't make comments on account of dyslexia. I also now appreciate your effort to do something and yet try to catch your plane as well.

I suspect Mrs Caplin has now already got a "pinup" of the newly invigorated Mr Caplin that you portrayed so well in your likeable entry in her linen cupboard.

Re: Challenge 975: A couple of tourists
First to take to the beach this week was DavidMac, with a… er… oh David, I think you might have set a trend there. I enjoyed the beach train, with its cunningly wrought title. Sometimes simplicity just works; and the artistry here is in the placement of the people, with Josephine and Gordon leaning into shot.

The bikini theme was followed by lwc, with an unanimated beach image. Gordon and I are a little dark for the setting, wouldn’t you say? It looks like a German bierkeller in the moose entry, where they clearly have a very relaxed attitude towards livestock. Good to see him back. I enjoyed the cockroach entry, with its stormy exterior. It would have been perfect if our eyes had followed the roach. The plane entry provides a neat contrast to the stormy weather. Good lighting in the table dancing entry, although judging by that stack of euros I think we might be overpaying. The beach buggy entry is an excellent animation – I like how the seagull is masking the fact that neither of us has our hands on the steering wheel. But McD’s? You jest. The steampunk beach buggy is impressive.

A leap of imagination takes dwindt to Omaha beach, with a spectacular WWII bomber (I’ll leave Gordon to fill in the serial number). Excellent placement of Gordon and me in the pilots’ seats, and good to see Ant and Josephine as gunners. Good one. I loved the chameleon beach walk first, second and third entries – really hilarious, and brilliantly achieved. Excellent.

A movie poster from tooquilos, with Gordon and I taking over the Bill and Ted roles. Good choice of bodies! I like how we fit into the train in the animated version, and you’ve had some fin with that tsunami! Gordon wrapped in a towel is brilliant, and the detail of the splashing water through the window and on the table is brilliant.

No restraint from Ant Snell on the choice of bodies… although I do have to say michael sinclair’s suggestion regarding head shading is a valid comment. Couldn’t find a body for Josephine? And I must say, Gordon seems a little overexcited in that image.

Parachute time for michael sinclair, or rather the lack of it… although I’d have thought with anything aeronautical it would be Gordon who was in charge of pulling things. The flapping arms are cute. I was very entertained by the arm wrestling entry, a neat two-framer. That’s some serious musculature.

A formal dinner setting from Ben Boardman and one for which I, sadly, appear distinctly underdressed compared to Gordon’s immaculate turnout. It’s an interesting array of dishes and tableware; no plates for either of us? And is Gordon eating a plant? Zooming in on the menu I see you’ve chosen the Coutanceau restaurant on the Plane de la Concurrence. I haven’t been there, but I have looked at the menu – and stopped when I saw a starter of sardines would set you back 84 euros.

I enjoyed Josephine Harvatt’s Barbie entry, with its overwhelming pinkness. Not tempted to put your own head on the Barbie in the deckchair?

A fun rebuild from Mariner, with a new shirt for me and a rather cute dog for Gordon – I like the shadow its head casts on his shirt. The girl in the middle seems impossible thin!

A packed beach from Frank, with an outstanding choice of bodies for Gordon and me. And I do like the writing in the sand. Very good!

Thanks Steve. I enjoyed that challenge even though it's difficult being back at work.

Lovely entries everyone.

I wondered what might come from this week’s Challeng. Everyone stepped up to the job with some excellent work.

Sorry I couldn’t come out to play this week.

Not impossible Steve. She's from an original photograph.

For some strange reason Ingrid's comment included the phrase 'dirty old man' ........ I don't think she meant the one's in the picture.

Yes I liked the long horizontal composition but somehow it just seemed all too easy, popping heads in a new place. Glad you liked it.

Thanks Steve.

I often "mask" something that I am either too lazy, or lack the artistic skills to recreate... McD's came from a search for restaurants near the beach...

Thanks Steve...!
