Challenge 1033: Ant's camper
This week's image comes from Ant Snell, who has just finished converting a transit van into a camper. He is, he tells me, unsure about how to decorate the outside. Can you offer some suggestions?

Ant says his wife's nickname is Goose, which could be combined with an Ant for added effect.

Oh, and you might suggest somewhere sunny he can take it…

High res is here.

Re: Challenge 1033: Ant's camper
Great entries coming in quickly.

My entry is sort of cheating as I haven't touched the new camper at all except to bend it a bit to fit the perspective of its new surroundings.

The minute I heard the names Ant and Goose together it screamed English pub at me!

The real old Devonshire pub I have used for "The Ant & Goose" is the Cott Inn in Dartington where I went to school. (Dartington not the pub). The writing on the wall is quite genuine, it is among some of the oldest pubs in Britain, licensed since 1320. We underage drinkers used to go a hatch in the back door out of sight where the obliging barman would quietly serve us a half pint of scrumpy. (For the non Brits this was a still, very raw, dry cider drawn from wooden barrels - a specialty of south West England.)

Wow, awesome work everyone... fun stuff indeed!

I'm sure all of you knew this would happen sooner or later, so I decided to get it out of the way now...

It certainly fits with the 50's giant insect genre like "The Incredible Shrinking Man" ...... fighting a spider with a pin for a sword (or something like that. It's a long time ago now.)

Truth is I was just enjoying myself with a nice moody image that had "Ant" in it.

I just looked up "THEM". I was really close to something without even realising!

I like everything about this Frank, well imagined from the beer bottles to the graphics on the van... lighting, shadows, and details are excellent.

Re: Challenge 1033: Ant's camper
I agree with Loyd. Tremendous little details. I also wanted to use that photo of Ant but, apart from putting him behind the window which was a bit too obvious, I couldn't think of a way. This is very clever.

My Canadian brother in law had one of those roof tents (don't know what they are called) that expanded out of a kind of shallow box. You have done a quite remarkable job of perspective matching with this one, it's a perfect fit!
