Legendary mixup

nice idea. the only thing that doesnt work for me is that the water (unless it's supposed to be sand?) is not in focus with the hand, quick depth of field adjustment perhaps? maybe a wave reflection - which would come towards the viewer. how did you do in the contest? _________________ most of the lack of sunshine in our lives is caused by us standing in our own shadow |

I'm not sure it is water Glen, perhaps it's mist/fog* in which case it's very nearly there although I wouldn't have cut the hand off that suddenly and let it fade more gradually into the swirling fog. As for the hand and light sabre hilt they are crips and in focus however the light sabre beam appears to be fuzzy, so either the beam needs defining more or the hand and hilt need blurring a little. Otherwise a great Arturian legend brought into the world of Star Wars. * In Arthurian Legend it's actually the dragon's breath conjured up by Merlin to aid The father of Arthur - Uther Pendragon - to sack the castle of his enemy - Gorlois - because Uther has fallen in love with the wife of his enemy - Igraine - soon to be mother of Arthur Not a lot of people know that /Michael Caine

Sheesh! Don't people recognise the mists of Avalon when they see them? The wrist probably could do with a little more blending, It lost a lot in the resize as well (it's 10x8 full size). The light sabre is supposed to be fuzzy, it's oscillating light, it's not one of those imitations with the perspex tubes you know!

Yes I understand it's oscillating but it appears to be too fuzzy which distracts from the picture there is bound to be a certain amount of fuzziness but with a more defined centre to the glow it will appear more like oscillation than blurriness - if you know what I mean.

Mists? fog? dragons breath? not being a great subscriber to legends I would'nt have even thought of mist. Avalon?, a Roxy Music single from many years ago, now if you could have got them into the image......... wrist looks a bit mistier by the way!! I think #2 looks better - wouldn't have a clue about the technical stuff, just think it looks better. I have always loved arthurian legends and at different times I have had horses called :King Arthur, Guinevere, Avalon, Lancalot, and Merlin. |
