Have just found time to have a look at all the postings for FC 888 and what good ones they are. Good work everyone. Is it, perhaps, the right time to propose an answer to Steve’s question about Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on different days in 1945? Is it due to the ending of British Double Summer Time at the end of WW II? _________________ If at first you don't succeed then skydiving is not for you. |

In any “given year” Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on different days of the week. Christmas occurs around 51 weeks later in the year than New Years Day. 1945 was no different. New Year's Day always occurs before Christmas Day each and every year, which means they are often (but not necessarily always) falling on different days of the week each year. In 1945, New Year's Day was on a Monday and Christmas Day was on a Tuesday. This is a brain teaser: Think : New Years day 1945 / Christmas Day 1945 NOT : Christmas Day 1945 - New Years Day 1946  |

I missed it completely. The 1945 end of hostilities was a red herring that I fell for completely. Micheal (Mariner) I love the reversal of the first two "2"s to create a heart shaped zero. Much, much cleverer than my reversal of the last two.
